About him

"Being a Buddhist monk, helping people is my purpose in life. That’s what I am here for. I live, not for myself, but for others, to support them and to deliver Buddha’s teaching. As long as I live, I will carry on helping and supporting those who need it. That is my word!"

The background to Brighter Life charity

A Buddhist monk, Venerable Ashin Adiccavamsalankara established a charity called The Dhammadhipati Vihara (DV). The main purpose of DV charity has always been to provide support to those people who seek Buddha’s teaching.
However, Venerable Ashin Adiccavamsalankara, the chairman of DV, thought that this support was great but also wanted to help poor people who need food, water, medicine and particularly education. Basic necessities such as food, clothes and shelter are very essential for a human life but POVERTY is a scourge to poor people who suffer a lot as they cannot fulfil their basic needs in their life.

Therefore, Venerable Ashin Adiccavamsalankara had decided to establish the Brighter-Life charity with a collection of his pupils to fulfil the above aims which are to support Education, foods, water and medicine in poor countries around the world. Regardless of country, nationality, colour and religion, we are here to help anyone who needs it. We particularly focus on supporting education to poor kids, and food, water and medicine for poor countries.

Charity Management

Brighter-life is based in the UK and governed by the DV association. Although the charity is under management of DV, charity’s objectives, activities, financial usages and decisions are entirely independent by collecting votes from the charity’s chairman, members and associate project coordinators in order to produce the most appropriate decision and support charity purposes in every way at all time. Charity member’s new ideas and suggestions are always welcomed and will be discussed at charity meetings.
